Frequently Asked Questions

Everything buyers ask about Aquasolar solar water pumps — sizing, water quality, warranty and ordering.

How does a solar water pump work — do I need batteries?

The pump runs directly from solar panels through an MPPT controller: sunlight in, water out. No batteries are needed — pump into a storage tank during the day and use gravity at night. If you need water on demand around the clock, choose an AC/DC hybrid model that also accepts grid or generator power.

Should I choose a DC pump or an AC/DC hybrid?

If you can store water in a tank, a pure DC pump gives the best value and simplest install. If you need water at any hour, or your region has long cloudy spells, an AC/DC hybrid switches automatically to grid or generator power when solar is weak.

How do I size the pump and the solar array?

Two numbers decide it: total head (vertical lift plus pipe losses) and required flow. Use our online Pump Selector for an instant shortlist. For panels, size the PV array at roughly 1.3–1.5× the pump’s rated power — every datasheet lists the recommended array for each model.

Can your pumps handle sandy or salty water?

Yes — the key is matching materials to the water. For sandy boreholes choose our screw pumps (sand tolerance up to 0.25%) or stainless-impeller models; for brackish or coastal water we offer SUS316 wetted parts; pool pumps use corrosion-proof engineering plastic.

What protections are built into the controller?

Our sensorless FOC sine-wave controllers (IP66) track MPPT above 99% and include dry-run, over- and under-voltage, overload and reverse-polarity protection as standard. Motors are IP68 with Class F insulation.

What is the warranty and after-sales support?

Every pump carries a 2-year warranty and is performance- and insulation-tested before it ships. Our engineers answer technical questions within 24 hours, and spare parts are available for all series.

Do you support OEM/ODM and distributor pricing?

Yes. With an annual output of 600,000+ pumps, we supply distributors, project developers and brands worldwide — OEM/ODM, custom packaging and volume pricing are all available. Tell us your market and quantities.

Which markets do you ship to, and how do I get a quote?

We export to 70+ countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. Send the model code — or simply your head and flow — through the contact form and you will receive a quotation within 24 hours.

Need the right pump for your project?

Tell us your head, flow and water source — our engineers reply within 24 hours.
